ABOUT BIANCA - CDBC, CPDT-KA, FFCT

Bianca is a Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant through the IAABC and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer through the Certification Counsel for Professional Dog Trainers. IAABC applications require demonstrated knowledge of scientific principles and their application, critical thinking, and require the presentation of 3 successful case studies. The CPDT certification requires a log of 300 hours of work in the industry. You must also receive a minimum score of 85% on their exam.

To keep up both certifications, she must attend approved continuing education seminars, conferences and webinars ensuring her education is kept current. She also must follow the Humane Hierarchy or LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) which means she uses the least intrusive methods before all else. Bianca has also completed the Fear Free Certification and Karen Pryor Puppy Start Right for Instructors course.

Fear Free certification allows her to work closely with vet hospitals and groomers to achieve fear free visits.

I began learning about positive reinforcement training in 2016 after rescuing a 1.5 year old Great Dane showing aggressive displays. I reached out to a trainer that specializes in reactivity and aggression and quickly became interested in the science behind how dogs learn and the positive, force-free ways to help with various behavioural issues, especially aggression. Within a month of doing sessions with my own dog, Snoopy, I began joining this trainer on the weekends for private lessons and going to as many group classes as possible to gain more knowledge. I mentored under her for about a year and a half. In that time, I worked hands on with clients, starting with walks, walk and trains, assisting in group classes including a reactive dog class, private puppy sessions and moving more into private dog-dog aggression and some dog-human aggression in the last 6 months of the mentor-ship. I am so grateful to all my colleagues, clients, family and friends who have helped guide me on this journey and encouraged me to continue on this path.

I look forward to helping guide you and your dog on your training journey and creating lasting bonds for you and your canine companion!
