Taking the dog for a walk

Community Reactive

Dog classes

Workshop style classes lead by a certified dog behaviour consultant & trainer

Are you working with another positive reinforcement trainer and are looking for a safe space to work?

Do you have an out of control dog but don't have the finances to hire a trainer for private lessons?

Are you curious about what we offer and how we work?

We are offering community reactive classes to teach you the basics of handling reactivity and how to safely manage and retrain your dogs' emotional response around their triggers. It is also a safe space to work on your goals while being coached by a certified professional behaviour consultant and her team.

One of our three skilled trainers/behaviour pro's will walk you through the training process used at the start of class and you will have a chance to practice in a safe setting with other pet parents and their reactive dogs.

Become a part of a group of like-minded people who have the same goals of lowering stress on walks and helping their dog learn new strategies to cope with ever-changing environments and difficult situations. Having the support in a community helps keep you motivated to train and gives lots of different dogs and humans to learn from.

Our community reactive classes are suitable for everyone from beginners with no knowledge to those already working on counterconditioning and desensitization plans with other R+ trainers.  We will offer a safe and supportive environment to learn new skills or to continue working around other dogs and people to reduce fear or frustration.

All dogs over the age of 6 months with a bite to a dog or human must be muzzled for the class. Not disclosing past incidents will result in you being immediately removed from the group and now allowed back. Safety is one of our top priorities and we expect full transparency from each participant.

More info on what to expect

Each meetup will have a maximum of 8 participants per 2 trainers.

You will receive information on what to do when you arrive prior to the class.

We will not be working on up close greetings. The goal is to build a solid foundation of skills from a safe distance.

As always, the use of e-collars, shock collars, prong collars, leash corrections, flexi-leashes, yelling, hitting or any other aversive methods will not be tolerated and you will be asked to leave and not welcome back if using any of these.

We are a Fear Free environment and stand strong behind our values.

As part of these classes, you may be invited to join our private Tri-Cities Reactive Club which offers even more opportunities to work around our awesome group of clients.

You will receive access to our private Facebook group where everyone in the club can connect, discuss training challenges, vent & share success!
